No matter how much fame and fortune we attain or how extravagant a lifestyle we live unless our value-ability is in the right place all we have is totally worthless.
Remember hearing about the rich young prince who came to Jesus and asked what he should do to be able to get into Heaven? Jesus told him to give up his wealth and standing in the community, give away all his worldly possessions and follow Him. The young prince bowed his head sadly and turned and walked away. His worldly possessions meant more than his eternal life. His value-ability had become disabled, crippled, blinded by fame and fortune. The young prince put a price-tag on life and the price Jesus exacted the prince would not pay. He would rather die to life eternal than give up the fame and fortune he had become accustomed to and so enjoyed the pleasures of.
Heaven, eternal life, had less value than all his material wealth and fame. Jesus said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into Heaven? Why? Because the rich man will first seek his own glory and satisfaction, his own honor before he will seek the glory and honor of God.
God said, “You shall have no other gods before me…” Anything you hold in the highest of esteem, greed after, envy, have an unquenchable desire for, including money, fame, the honor of others to the determent of others, anything you place first in your life becomes a god. There is nothing wrong with having nice things, a good home, nice clothes, taking a vacation, enjoying a hobby, having a nice vehicle, enjoying good food, being respected by others so long as we do not become obsessed by them, seek them above all righteousness; put them before God.
God wants us to be happy, live comfortably and have all our needs met, to live lives of good report, use well and wisely our talents. When it becomes wrong and debilitating, a terminal disease is when you lose your ability to see things for what they really are. God does not want us to idolize things, fame and fortune or those who possess them.
Life is priceless, all the rest are just things and will perish.
If you do not have GOD, all that you possess, all your fame and fortune has no value, no worth at all. If you do not have the true Love, everything is worthless.
So, What is it you value the most? Where is your treasure and your heart ?
.::Matthew 6:21::. Remember that Where Your Treasure Is, There Your Heart Will Be Also .::Matthew 6:21::.
